Lines 4–5. Jamme: 'the reconciliation of witnesses. May the god grace him'.
Commentary
Line 2. ʾkr, common Semitic 'laboureur, paysan'; Syr. ʾakar 'labourer, cultivate' (Cohen 1970-: 19). Arabic ʾakara 'to dig a hollow, or cavity, in the ground, for water to collect therein and to be baled out therefrom clear' (Lane 1863-1893: 70c).
